Olivia Douglas - Mezzo-soprano

Olivia Douglas, mezzo-soprano, is set to graduate from the University of Texas at Austin in May with a Master of Music in Opera performance, having studied with Darlene Wiley.  Hailing from El Paso, Texas, she holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Texas at El Paso, where she most recently performed the role of The Baker’s Wife in Act I of Into the Woods.  Her undergraduate education provided her with opportunities to perform in numerous choruses and young artist productions with El Paso Opera, the most recent being the role of Cherubino in Act I of Le Nozze di Figaro

 The main focus of her studies at UT Austin has been performing with the Butler Opera Center, taking on the roles of Dargelos/Agathe in Les Enfants Terribles...

  I will be traveling to Lawrenceville, NJ for three weeks beginning June 29th and ending July 19th to take part in CoOPERAtive, a summer training program where young singers hone their skills and receive individualized feedback on the next step toward a professional career.  The daily schedule includes coachings and master classes on operatic repertoire, languages, drama, auditions, and body awareness with some of the most prestigious and experienced people in the industry, hailing from the Metropolitan Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Juilliard, and the like.
