About The Artist

Keeley Hooker, Soprano

Soprano Keeley Jo Hooker will be graduating from Southwestern University this year with a double major in Music and Anthropology.  

As a winner of the 2012 Southwestern University Concerto Competition, Ms. Hooker performed as a soloist with the Southwestern University Orchestra. She is currently cast as June in Gypsy, and has performed roles including Ms. Pinkerton in The Old Maid and the Thief, and Ms. Vixen and the understudy of Lucy in The Beggar’s Opera.  She participated in the 2012 Butler Opera Center...

Keeley Hooker was accepted to the four-week young artist program Opera NEO, where she will be immersed in role preparation, weekly private voice lessons, weekly private voice coaching, classes in stage craft and audition techniques, daily movement classes, plus career and audition seminars. She will be the role of the first spirit in a fully staged production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute with orchestra, perform numbers in the Cabaret performance, and sing in the Aria marathon. Keeley will be staying with a host family in San Diego, California while attending this wonderful program. The internationally acclaimed faculty members include Brenda Harris,Braeden Harris, Peter Kozma, Elden Little, Korey Barrett, Enrique Toral and Daniel Helfgot.

Keeley Hooker performs The Willow Aria from Douglas Moore's The Ballad of Baby Doe and Batti, batti o bel Masetto from Mozart's Don Giovanni.
