Coming off of recent triumphant debuts in Europe and Asia, American soprano STACEY STOFFERAHN is making an impact as a leading artist in opera, oratorio and in concert.  Her recent portrayal as Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer with Opera Siam in Thailand led to an additional appearance in the same role with South Dakota Symphony Orchestra.  Other performances include the title role in Tosca with West Bay Opera, Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte with Lyric Opera of Kansas City, soloist in Brahms’ Requiem with Joplin Symphony and the MSSU Chorale, Musetta in La Bohème with Wichita Grand Opera, soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with...

I have been cast to sing the title role of Magda in Puccini’s opera, La rondine, with Varna International (!  The Opera Academy at Varna International was established in 2011, gaining exceptional momentum in the last three years, attracting both academic and professional singers across the globe.  Even more notably, Varna International has acquired an impressive faculty list of very prominent international professionals in the classical music industry.

As a principal soloist in the Opera Academy, I will make my Eastern European debut on the Varna Opera stage in a fully-staged and costumed production in coordination with the Varna Opera House, Chorus and Orchestra.  In addition, I will work with Maestro Marek Ruszczynski, Vocal Coach with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the Royal Academy of Music; Maestro Gregory Buchalter, Assistant Conductor with the Metropolitan Opera, Artistic Director of Opera Fairbanks, and Music Director of Opera Las Vegas; and Ms. Carol Wilson, International Soprano, with a distinguished singing career with major opera houses throughout the world: Dresden, Frankfurt, Netherlands, San Francisco, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Taipei, Vancouver, Manitoba, Bonn, Hannover, Nürnberg, and the Metropolitan Opera.

Networking in this business is essential to cultivating a professional singing career, and when this role opportunity was offered to me, I knew I couldn’t pass on it.  It does, however, come with financial challenges associated with program and travel. I’ve been able to raise a fifth of the total funds so far, but the 2018 Tuition Deadline approaches. Your tax-deductible donation towards my Varna International budget costs will help me immensely, and in your generous contribution, you will have a lasting part my career development.

Any amount that you donate is met with my sincere gratitude, and I thank you for your support through the years and now, as I endeavor to raise funds for this project.  In the early spring, I will be touring my concert, “Love and Letters,” in the Kansas City area and other nearby regions, to raise awareness of this project.  You can go to my website for a schedule of my concerts, beginning in February 2018:

If the spirit moves you to donate $500 or more, please allow me to thank you with a private concert to celebrate an upcoming life event, such as an anniversary, birthday, or retirement, or whatever you choose.  (I gave my parents a concert to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, and it was a wonderful experience all around.  I was so glad I could give back to them, and I’ll be very happy to do the same for you!)
