About The Artist

Brooke Larimer, Peter Szep, Noah Lethbridge & Walker Lewis

Brooke Larimer is a Vermont-born mezzo-soprano with international stage credits, a passion for entrepreneurship, and an abiding affection for 20th and 21st century classical music. A graduate of Vanderbilt University and The Boston Conservatory, she now lives in The Bronx with her tenor boyfriend and orange tabby cat. She is co-founder and Treasurer of Boston Opera Collaborative and sits on the advisory board for Resonance Works | Pittsburgh. A lover of people, coffee, food, books, stand-up comedy, travel, the scientific method, and breaking rules, she is always looking to meet fearless co-conspirators interested in performing, producing, or experimenting with new ideas. brookelarimer.com

The Indie Opera Podcast (indieopera.com) began as a conversation between two opera lovers/performers (conductor Peter Szep and tenor Noah Lethbridge) in 2011. With the mission of educating the public about the work of smaller opera companies both in the United States and abroad, they began creating monthly episodes featuring different organizations, artists, or ideas.

Since that first episode, two new hosts have joined (mezzo-soprano Brooke Larimer and stage director Walker Lewis), and the podcast has recorded dozens of episodes on a wide variety of topics and interviewed important composers, librettists, producers, and performers from all across the opera industry.

For the 2016-2017 season, we have several exciting guests lined up including Stewart Copeland, Nkeiru Okoye, Donnacha Dennehy, and others to be announced, and will be producing episodes on a monthly basis.

The total cost for producing the season is $24,000. While advertising covers some of the costs associated with production, we are dependent on the support of donors like you to continue to provide a valuable and entertaining service to the opera community with humor and honesty.

Thank you for listening, and thank you for your support!
