About The Artist

Alexis Cregger, Dramatic Coloratura Soprano

A native of Winchester, MA, she has been singing since the age of 12.  Her endeavors at that age included singing with The Treble Chorus of New England where she performed the roles of First Witch in Dido & Aeneas, and Mrs. Ford in Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor.  For her senior year in High School, she attended the internationally known Interlochen Arts Academy where she participated in the Opera Workshop program, singing scenes from La Cenerentola and Così fan Tutte.  After Interlochen she came to the Eastman School of Music where she performed the role of Bridesmaid in Le Nozze di Figaro.

Alexis Cregger - Dramatic Coloratura Soprano  Glowingly reviewed by Opera News, "Alexis Cregger's eye-opening Donna Anna sailed through the difficult role with vocal ease and stylistic aplomb, wielding her gleaming soprano like a shining sword of justice."

It has been a whirlwind of a year with operatic performances and concerts aplenty. Most recently I had the opportunity to dust off the role of Fiordiligi for the Geneva Light Opera in Geneva, NY.  Prior to Così fan Tutte this season, I sang Donna Anna with Amore Opera, Die Königin der Nacht with Opera Theater Montclair, Patience with the Blue Hill Troupe, Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera with Regina Opera, and covered the notably difficult role of Abigaille in Nabucco with Opera Theater Montclair. I also performed in several concerts including Amore Opera's Valentine's Day Gala, and a small production of Yeomen of the Guard with Utopia Opera.  Now, however is the time to take the plunge and test the waters in Germany to truly start my career. I have been advised that the optimal time to go to Germany, Austria and Switzerland is at the end of October and to stay for a minimum of 6 weeks as auditions will be spread out, and not all companies hold auditions at the same time.

I plan to be in Germany for 2 months at a minimum, October 26- December 23, 2015, and am attempting to raise funds for my trip and the associated costs with being in Germany for an extended period of time. Here are some clips of recent productions:
